Graduate Certificate Curriculum

Effective September, 2017: The University of Kansas Edwards Campus is no longer accepting applications for admission to the graduate certificate in Instructional Design. However, the Department will continue to offer a Master’s degree in Educational Technology in Lawrence. More information on the program in Lawrence can be found here.


Students are able to complete the Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design at KU in only one academic year, by taking four required courses (12 credit hours):

  • ELPS 718 - Human Performance Technology 
  • ELPS 720 - Social Media Technology 
  • ELPS 814 - Design of Online Learning 
  • ELPS 818 - Games and Simulations for Learning
