Summary

Julie Thornton is working towards her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies as a member of the summer 2019 cohort. Julie brings nearly 30 years of professional student affairs, Title IX and student advocacy experience in both private and public college and university settings. Currently Julie serves as Director of Employee Relations for Human Resource Management at the University of Kansas, working to provide support to employees, managers and supervisors with the goal of enhancing the employee experience to boost morale and confidence, encourage success and minimize risk. Julie earned her B.A. from St. Olaf College in speech-communication and her M.S. from Illinois Ste University in Educational Administration and Foundations. Julie’s research interests are with transfer student sense of belonging, under-represented student success, and the student-athlete.
