Mauricio Gómez Montoya

Mauricio currently serves as the Student Experience Designer in the University Honors Program at the University of Kansas. In this role, he oversees advising efforts for Honors students, leads the development of innovative programs to connect students to campus resources, and designs meaningful co-curricular experiences for students in the University Honors Program. Mauricio is passionate about issues of social justice, men and masculinities and works towards centering equity into the fabric of the institution. His research is focused on exploring the experiences of cisgender men of color who engaged in academic help-seeking behaviors during their first-year at KU. Mauricio is a two-time graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
