Summary

Mike Slagle is the Deputy Superintendent for the Blue Valley School District.  He holds responsibilities for the departments of human resources, facilities and operations, legal, business and finance, program evaluation, and state and federal legislative affairs. Mike began his teaching career in Battle Creek, Nebraska, and came to the Blue Valley School District in 1994. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Nebraska Christian College (1991), a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wayne State College (1991), Master of Science degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Iowa (1993) and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in education leadership from the University of Kansas (2007). His other educationally-related professional accomplishments include being an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas, instructor at the University of Iowa, and guest lecturer at Cornell University in New York. In addition, Mike has published several refereed journal articles and recently was awarded the Outstanding Publication Award for Advances in Methodology by the American Education Research Association.
