Biography —
With a career spanning over 36 years in education, Dr. Marcy Cassidy has dedicated her life to fostering excellence in the field of education. Dr. Cassidy has served in multiple roles as an educator such as a classroom teacher, curriculum director, principal, and now, a school superintendent.
Dr. Cassidy is a graduate of both the University of Kansas and the University of Iowa earning her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in education and administration. These academic accomplishments have provided a strong foundation for a lifetime devoted to advancing educational practices and supporting educators and students at every level.
In addition to her work as a leader in the field of education, Dr. Cassidy is also the author of Roll Call: The ABCs of Surviving and Thriving in Today’s Classrooms, a book written as a lasting legacy to the teaching profession.
This engaging and practical guide offers research-based strategies for educators while drawing parallels between the teaching profession and the challenges of a Survivor reality show. Through humor, wisdom, and heartfelt reflection, the book provides valuable insights and encouragement for educators navigating today’s complex classrooms.
Dr. Cassidy currently resides in Topeka, Kansas with her husband, Kevin, and their two French Bulldogs. She takes great pride in their grown sons, Will and Max. Whether in the classroom, the superintendent’s office, or working on her next book, Dr. Cassidy is passionate about her work. She is a fourth generation educator in her family and is grateful to her ancestors who instilled a love for learning in her at a very young age. Through her writing and her work as a superintendent, Dr. Cassidy hopes to inspire veteran teachers to remain in the profession and attract new teachers into the classrooms.
